I saw a book on Safari Books Online that seems like a very good way to learn iPhone Development. It is from a series of books that uses "The study of studying" to teach you a subject in a way that your brain will actually think it's important, and therefore retain it. It's called "Head First iPhone Development". I decided to buy a copy of the book even though I can read it online at work because I won't be able to do anything with it at work. My copy should be arriving in a few days from Amazon (1/2 price), and until then if I get any lulls in the day I can skim a page or two in Safari.
I decided to start a new part of the page dealing with my daily contributions. These are things that I either come up with or randomly come across in communication or on the net that I find interesting enough to share with other people. It seems that everyday it's something else with me, so why not jot them all down in one place.
Just got back from Arizona. I was visiting my brother in Tucson before he deploys to the desert for the 5th time. Although that was the main reason for the trip, my family and I also used the time to run a race (I ran 4 miles and my wife and son ran 1 mile at the Sunrise over Old Tucson race). I kept an 8 min mile pace so I'm happy.
I was just notified via my Meetup group that David Wolfe will be in Baltimore at the end of April. Tix are only $20 so I got two tickets for my wife and I. I'm very stoked to see this guy.
I added Tags today using Taxonomy. Simple for now. In the future this will be helpful in changing the look and feel of the main page by breaking it down into groups, rather than having all of my random thoughts all in one pile. I think I will use panels and views to separate the blogs by their tags. Then what...hmmm, that can get messy if I end up with a lot of tags. Maybe I will just use the tagadelic module or something, and then have a column with the top viewed posts or something. No idea. But tagging is at least the start. :-)
I was reading up on Brendan Brazier today, because his name keeps coming up. First I heard about him on the Running Raw videos via YouTube. Next, I was reading on the web about athletes that are vegans and his name came up again. This weekend, when shopping at roots, I came across his line of living food products and said to myself "Ok...I get it...I need to find out more about this guy".
